ABOUT
Roger Edward “Ed” Henderson, Jr. is a trial attorney and litigator at Hatfield Temple. His practice areas include personal injury, workers’ compensation, and insurance bad faith litigation. Ed was born and raised in Chesterfield, South Carolina. After graduating from Wofford College and the University of South Carolina School of Law, Ed worked at a Bennettsville, South Carolina law firm where his practice focused on personal injury and criminal defense cases. He then served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul M. Burch, Resident Circuit Court Judge in South Carolina’s Fourth Judicial Circuit. After completing his clerkship, Ed served four years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with 2d Reconnaissance Battalion, 2d Marine Division.
Following his active military service, Ed was an associate attorney at a large, multi-state civil defense firm, where he gained experience in several diverse areas of litigation in both state and federal courts. He then worked for a firm in Florence, where his practice centered on civil litigation and criminal defense. These varied experiences allow Ed to provide effective counsel to his clients while simultaneously guiding them through the adversarial process with compassion and respect. Furthermore, his experience defending insurance companies gives him insight and experience on how these companies evaluate claims. His practice is now focused on catastrophic injury claims, including wrecks involving tractor-trailers, commercial vehicles, automobiles and motorcycles, premises liability claims, nursing home neglect/abuse, defective products, animal attacks, insurance bad faith, and workers compensation. Ed also continues to serve, part-time, as a Judge Advocate in the South Carolina Army National Guard.
